About Doug
I've called the Southwest home for over 40 years. In 1982, I traded the East Coast for New Mexico, eventually spending many years in the high country of Colorado. My wife, Dawn, and I later moved to Arizona in search of warmer weather—but we always knew it wouldn’t be our final stop. After years of visiting Catron County, we finally made the move during a time when the world was slowing down and re-evaluating priorities. It was the right choice.
With over two decades in sales and 11 years as a licensed Realtor® in Arizona, helping clients with their real estate goals has become second nature. After moving to Reserve, I had the pleasure of working with Mary Greiert—now my broker at Open Range Real Estate. After we closed on our home, she asked me what I enjoy most. I said, “Driving around and talking to people.” She smiled and said, “You’ll fit right in.” She was right.
When I’m not helping clients, I’m usually exploring the vast and stunning Gila National Forest, or traveling abroad—learning from new landscapes, people, and cultures.
Giving back is a core value in my life. Inspired by my father, I’ve been active in volunteering for years. Today, I serve as a Crisis Counselor with the National Suicide Hotline, work with men through The Mankind Project, and mentor youth through Boys to Men—a school-based program helping teenage boys find their way.
Enough about me—I’d love to hear your story. Let’s talk and see what we can create together.
